Vessels IT Intern

Technomar Shipping Inc. is looking for a Vessels IT Intern to join our dynamic team and help maintain and enhance the IT infrastructure across our fleet.

 
Role Overview:
The Vessels IT Intern will assist the company’s IT department in supporting and maintaining the information technology systems operating onboard vessels. The role provides valuable experience with maritime IT infrastructure, including onboard networks, communication systems, and end-user workstations.

The intern will contribute to technical support activities, installation of new systems, and routine maintenance tasks, while gaining practical experience in troubleshooting and system documentation. 

Responsibilities:

Assist in providing technical support for IT systems operating on board company vessels (network, satellite, and workstation environments).

• Log, monitor, and follow up on technical requests and incidents through the company’s ticketing system.

• Support the deployment and configuration of new onboard infrastructure, including servers, network equipment, and communication systems.

• Participate in routine software checks, updates, and maintenance tasks to ensure system reliability and cybersecurity compliance.

• Contribute to documentation and reporting of vessel IT systems, assisting in process improvement and standardization initiatives.

• Basic understanding of computer systems and IT concepts.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills,

• Interest in developing skills in IT support, networking, and systems administration

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).

• Good command of English ( B2 level )
